Rexanna's Story

She never smoked a day in her life.

On April 21, 2006, Rexanna Hawkins received a diagnosis that would reshape the lives of everyone who loved her. At 49, she was athletic, competitive, and full of fire.

Two months later, on June 21, lung cancer took her. Known for her huge heart, loyalty, and relentless spirit โ€” Rexanna inspired coaches, students, and colleagues alike. Her final wish was to give back.

"Known for her fiery spirit, competitiveness, huge heart and loyalty โ€” Rexanna impacted lives she would never know."

Our Mission

Three Goals.
One Relentless Fight.

The mission of Rexanna's Foundation is to support efforts focused on increasing the survival rate of lung cancer patients through three core pillars.

Raise Funds for Research

Fund breakthroughs in lung cancer treatment and education to move the needle on a disease that's chronically under-resourced relative to its impact.

Increase Awareness

Shatter the myth that lung cancer only affects smokers. 80% of new cases are non-smokers โ€” the world needs to understand this reality.

Promote Early Detection

Advocate for early screening, prevention education, and targeted therapies that can fundamentally transform the 17% survival rate.

The Numbers
